AutoHaul is Rio Tinto's fully autonomous heavy-haul rail system operating in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It transports iron ore from 16 mines to four port terminals across a 1,700 km network, significantly improving safety and productivity by eliminating the need for human drivers on board. The system, developed in collaboration with Hitachi Rail STS, is recognized as the world's largest robot.
