Agility selects Nyobolt for Digit 5 fast-charging battery technology

Digit 5 will feature a battery system designed for longer working windows, with Nyobolt providing the fast-charging technology.

Agility Robotics named Nyobolt as the battery technology provider for Digit 5 in an announcement dated 2026-10-15. The partnership focuses on reducing the time the humanoid will spend recharging between periods of work.

Planned runtime and recharge performance

According to Agility, the new battery system will provide 90 minutes of runtime and recharge in 9 minutes. That will give it a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio, compared with 2:1 for Digit 4.

Designed for longer working days

Agility says the fast-charging system is designed to enable more than 20 hours of work in a 24-hour day. These are Agility's projected capabilities for the upcoming system, rather than independently measured operating results.

The company describes warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations as settings where the battery performance is designed to support longer working windows and more demanding task sequences.

Nyobolt's role in the system

The announcement identifies Nyobolt as the provider of the high-power, fast-charging battery technology. Agility links the technology to its plans to reduce charging downtime and improve robot utilization.
