AutoStore adds mixed-bin handling and AI tools in Fall 2026 announcement
AutoStore pairs FlexBinsPort and expanded case handling with robotic picking, AI-assisted planning and maintenance tools on its path toward autonomous fulfillment.
AutoStore’s Fall 2026 announcement connects changes on the warehouse floor with software for designing and maintaining fulfillment systems. The company presents the portfolio as a way to reduce manual intervention and handle a wider range of workflows as it works toward more autonomous operations.
Mixed bins, cases and robotic picking
FlexBinsPort brings different standard AutoStore Bin heights to the same workstation. AutoStore estimates that matching Bin size to inventory can improve storage utilization by 10–15%. The company says the workstation releases in Q4 2026.
AutoCase combines case handling and individual-item picking within the same system. AutoStore says support for cases up to 600 x 400 mm starts in Q1 2027. A parallel-processing capability lets multiple AutoCase stations share a task group to feed downstream packing or palletizing.
For smaller businesses, Pio Pal offers robotic picking through a Robotics-as-a-Service model. AutoStore lists packing throughput of up to 540 order lines per hour at the workstation for orders that have already been picked. That figure describes the pre-picked packing workflow, rather than a robot’s standalone picking rate. VersaAI also extends robotic piece picking to additional system configurations, including new and existing installations.
AI for planning and system design
CubeVerse provides the cloud environment for AutoStore applications, while AutoStore Intelligence supplies AI models informed by operational data. CubeExplore uses generative AI, operating benchmarks and comparable projects to build investment scenarios. An AI design assistant in CubeStudio helps compare system configurations before deployment.
Maintenance informed by operating data
CubeFleet combines maintenance alerts, guidance and work orders in a fleet-management view. It uses live data from CubeAnalytics and predefined maintenance thresholds to flag service needs. AutoStore estimates a 35–45% reduction in unplanned downtime; this is the company’s estimate, not an independently verified result. CubeAnalytics also adds views across sites and AI-generated fleet summaries.
